How does the gold karat calculator work?
It divides the selected karat by 24 to get a theoretical gold fraction, multiplies that fraction by the entered weight, and applies the current spot value to estimate contained-metal value.
What is the gold content of 10 grams of 18K gold?
The theoretical content is 10 × 18/24, or 7.5 grams of gold. The calculator also estimates the spot-based metal value when valid live Gold and FX references are available.
Is karat the same as fineness?
They express the same purity in different scales. Karat uses 24 parts; fineness uses parts per thousand. Use the dedicated converters for a direct scale conversion.
Does this predict a jewelry or scrap payout?
No. It estimates theoretical contained-metal value. Testing, refining, design, condition, premiums, taxes, and dealer margin can change a real offer.
